📋 Program Hakkında

In the research-oriented Master's program, students should learn to work independently and in a project-based manner on problems and issues of gender studies, and to develop solution concepts which are guided by theory, precise methods and reflected in scientific theory. The unique feature of the Master's program is its disciplinary positioning in the field of gender studies within political science on the one hand and the interdisciplinary and transregional deepening of knowledge on the other. In addition, methodological competencies will be expanded upon. The Master's program provides a sound knowledge of the complexity of the category gender with regard to the interaction with other difference categories such as race/ethnicity, social stratum, age or sexuality. In this context, special attention is also paid to the historical, socio-economic, cultural and political preconditions as well as the regional specifics of gender structures and complex social inequalities. The focus is on the goal of enabling students to intersectionally analyze political processes, interactions, structures and institutions in transnational contexts.
