📋 Program Hakkında

The Molecular Biosciences degree programme provides students with an opportunity to continue their academic careers in their chosen field of Biosciences. Within the Molecular Biosciences programme, the following subjects may be chosen as majors: Neuroscience, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Cancer Biology, Infectious Diseases, Developmental and Stem Cell Biology, Molecular and Applied Plant Sciences, and Systems Biology. Each major is designed to provide a comprehensive, yet focused, education in the most exciting fields of modern biological research. The program lasts for 4 semesters (2 years), starting at the beginning of October each year. The first year contains formal course work and the second year is devoted to laboratory research (lab rotations and Masters project work). Heidelberg University is renowned for its concentration of world-class biological research laboratories, all of which are open to students. Instructors from the Faculty of Biosciences, most of whom work and teach in the Bioquant, BZH, Center for Infectious Diseases, COS, DKFZ, IPMB, IZN or ZMBH, stand ready to welcome and guide new students as prospective members of the research community.

* Relevant bachelor's degree with a grade above average (Guidelines: German system: minimum 2.4; UK system: 2.1 or better) * Subject focus should generally be on biological sciences, though students with other relevant degrees (e.g., chemistry or physics) may be considered for some courses

* TOEFL: 570 (paper-based) or 90 (internet-based) * IELTS: 6.5 * Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) * UNIcert®: At least UNIcert® II certificate with minimum grade of 2.3 * NULTE certificates: at least level B2+ * Non-standard requirements: At least two years of relevant study or professional experience in an English-speaking country within the last three years before application, or successful completion of a degree program taught in English * Native speakers are exempt from providing language certificates
