📋 Program Hakkında

The Applied Geosciences degree program focuses on understanding the earth and its processes with practical applications. Students learn about geological processes affecting the environment, raw materials extraction, and geoscientific data analysis to prevent environmental damage and understand climate change. The program covers basics of geosciences and specialized topics like hydrogeology, engineering geology, georesources, and geochemistry. With a strong emphasis on practical applications, students study soils, rocks, water, and minerals to solve real-world problems in environmental engineering, geotechnics, and raw materials exploration. The program combines laboratory work with fieldwork in nature for sample collection and measurements. Graduates develop methodological knowledge to link geoscientific issues and apply analytical and quantitative methods, preparing them to work in construction, energy supply, or environmental protection sectors.

* General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) * Subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification (not Fachhochschulreife) * Delta examination of the University of Mannheim (for holders of a Fachhochschulreife) * Recognized advanced vocational training or vocational training with professional experience and aptitude test * For non-EU/EEA nationals with foreign school-leaving certificates: may require university entrance examination and/or successful year of study in home country
