📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's degree programme 'Cultural Studies in Historical Perspective' offers students an approach to cultural studies that is primarily informed by cultural theory and the methodology of scholarly research. The programme aims to teach theory as a model of reality that provides students with an exciting and indispensable tool for academic analysis. With its focus on cultural theory, the M.A. programme teaches students important historical and cultural relationships and encourages critical reflection on the different theoretical perspectives. Students will sharpen their interdisciplinary analytical skills and will learn to apply theoretical concepts to concrete historical and cultural artefacts. Students can customize their course content to reflect their own personal academic interests and the professional field in which they would later like to work. The specific modules cover more than 20 subjects in disciplines including ancient civilization studies, European cultural and social anthropology, historical anthropology, history, geography, art history, musicology, philosophy, language and literature studies, theology and religious studies. Students select three subject areas in which they wish to pursue their studies.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent university degree (min. 180 ECTS points) with focus on cultural studies from fields such as ancient studies, history, human geography, historical anthropology, European ethnology, art history, literature, musicology, philosophy, religious studies and theology * Bachelor's degree with an overall grade of 2.3 or better * At the time of application, proof of at least 150 CP achieved in the Bachelor's program is required * Bachelor's degree must be presented at the latest when starting the program

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* English: B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages * Another modern foreign language: B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages * For admission to some examinations in certain subject modules, knowledge of Latin and/or Ancient Greek must be proven * Non-EU applicants without German higher education entrance qualification must prove sufficient German language skills before beginning studies
