📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program in Culture and History of Central and Eastern Europe at Viadrina is unique because it not only imparts knowledge about Central and Eastern Europe but is also anchored in the border region between Germany and Poland. At Germany's easternmost university, professors and students from Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, and other countries from Europe and the world come together to work interdisciplinarily on challenges, perspectives, and problems of Eastern European culture and history in their pan-European context. The typically small seminar size at Viadrina enables intensive supervision by professors and enlivens contact between students. Two research libraries, that of Viadrina and that of Collegium Polonicum, are available to them. The program consists of six modules with 12 ECTS credits each, an additional module with 18 ECTS credits for foreign language training and practical study components, and the master's thesis with a final colloquium worth 30 ECTS credits. The total study volume is 120 ECTS credits.

* First university degree (Bachelor's) with 180 ECTS credits * 30 ECTS credits with relevant Central or Eastern European focus, particularly Slavic philology, Middle and Modern History, Social Sciences with Eastern European focus * Proof of first degree must be provided by submitting an officially certified copy * Transcript of Records (confirmed by your university) to assess the relevance of the 30 ECTS credits
