The master's programme in European History is a research oriented course of studies that focuses on the acquisition of methods and transfer skills, as well as practical professionalisation. Students acquire technical and methodological as well as social and personal skills in areas including epoch-specific specialist studies, interdisciplinary research, historical professionalisation, and research project. The program offers a wide variety of teaching and learning forms and opportunities for independent research work under professional supervision, with project and research oriented teaching, an integrated semester abroad, and a mentor programme. The program has international orientation of teaching, close coordination with European partner universities, forward looking specialisation areas, and research oriented study.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in History or in a closely related field worth at least 60 ECTS credits.

* Non-standard requirements: Adequate knowledge of German is required.
