📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program Advanced Quantum Physics is a consecutive program based on a Bachelor's degree in Physics. Quantum physics is a central component of our current technology: lasers, microprocessors, and precise time measurement are all based on the findings of quantum mechanics. With your smartphone, tablet, computer, or navigation device, you are holding quantum applications in your hands. Laser shows, laser engravings, or laser operations are all thanks to the insights of quantum physics. A large part of the world's trade volume is related to quantum physics. The program optimally prepares you for working on highly innovative technical developments! In the first two semesters, you will acquire advanced and in-depth expertise in the fields of modern quantum physics: quantum information processing, many-body phenomena, and the microphysical foundations of materials science. This includes competencies in various current theoretical methods and experimental techniques in the field of modern quantum physics, such as laser physics or theoretical modeling of complex systems. Through elective courses, you will expand your spectrum in the natural sciences and complete your skills. From the third semester, the Research Module begins. Here, you will be introduced to active research work through special seminars and work in research groups. The program concludes with your first own research work - the Master's thesis. The curriculum is structured across 4 semesters with focus areas in Quantum Technologies (16 CP), Many-Body Quantum Systems (20 CP), Laboratory Course in Advanced Quantum Technologies (7 CP), Science Electives (8 CP), General Electives (6 CP), Research Module (33 CP), and Master's Thesis (30 CP).

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Bachelor's degree in Physics from RPTU or an equivalent qualification * For applicants with a different Bachelor's degree, admission may be granted with additional requirements if no more than 30 credit points of additional coursework are needed * Applicants who have not yet completed their Bachelor's degree may be admitted if they have no more than 30 credit points remaining to complete

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* English language proficiency must be demonstrated through one of the following: * TOEFL: minimum 213 points (written 550 points, internet-based 80 points) * CEFR: B2 level * Bachelor's degree conducted primarily in English * German language requirements apply for students who did not obtain their study qualification at a German-speaking institution
