📋 Program Hakkında

During the study of law, students deal with legal regulations and other legal texts, including legal historical, philosophical and sociological aspects as well as rules on legal proceedings. The course covers the major areas of German legislation: private law, public law, and criminal law. The study of law in Giessen is characterized by an advantageous staff-to-student ratio and the 'Giessen Method' (work in small groups with students assuming responsibility). Many practitioners (judges, lawyers, administrative jurists) are involved in teaching, adding an occupational perspective. The program is divided into four sections: Intermediate Examination, Practical courses for advanced students, Specialisation area, and Preparation for the First law examination. Students must complete three one-month placements and can choose from various specialization areas including fundamentals of law, industrial law and social legislation, commercial law, international law, European law, and criminology.
