📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is designed as a consecutive research-oriented program worth 120 credit points. It deepens and expands the Bachelor's program in Psychology (180 CP) and provides students with comprehensive expertise and theories in the field of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, as well as practical and communicative skills necessary for their future activities. The research-oriented Master's program is based on the current state of scientific knowledge. Graduates are able to identify and treat disorders that require psychotherapeutic care or to arrange appropriate treatment measures. For this purpose, students acquire in-depth knowledge of numerous method-specific and cross-method approaches, disorder-specific knowledge, and a necessary, comprehensive overview of the complex psychotherapeutic care system. Students also deepen their ability to critically classify scientific findings and to act and think responsibly in an interdisciplinary manner, enabling them to critically question themselves and constantly optimize the quality of care and therapy processes. The program also sharpens students' scientific skills, especially regarding the empirical research of mental illness and mental health. Students thus expand their knowledge and skills in assessing and applying clinical-psychological research methods and gain a deeper understanding of scientifically-empirically based work.

* Bachelor's degree in Psychology from a higher education institution with at least 180 credit points and a standard period of study of at least six semesters, in accordance with § 9 paragraph 1 sentence 2 PsychThG * The Bachelor's degree must comply with the content and structure requirements of the PsychThG and PsychThApprO * Alternatively, an equivalent degree according to § 9 paragraph 4 sentence 6, paragraph 5 PsychThG with certification from the state health authority

* Bachelor's degree certificate or transcript of records showing compliance with professional legal requirements according to PsychThG * For degrees without professional recognition (e.g., foreign degrees): Certificate from the state health authority on the equivalence of the degree * If the qualifying degree is not yet available at the time of application: Proof of at least 2/3 of the required academic achievements (subject/grade overview, etc.). The certificate itself must be submitted within four months after the start of studies.
