📋 Program Hakkında

The graduate study programme Master of Education (MEd) in Economics completes the studies for secondary school teachers "Lehramt Gymnasium" and is the pre-requisite for admission to the teacher traineeship ("Referendariat"). The study of economics will provide students with the essential knowledge, methods and theoretical background in the areas of economics and business administration. Students will learn how to explain the basic concepts of modern economic theory and be able to follow economic policy discussions. The master's programme usually takes four semesters to complete. Students will be taking two major subjects as well as classes in educational science including a practical teaching semester.

* Completed bachelor's degree in teacher education "Gymnasium" with two majors or an equivalent degree * In exceptional cases: graduates of a six-semester bachelor's programme with elements of teacher education * Minimum of 64 ECTS in each major subject, with at least 146 ECTS total in both subjects * Minimum of 5 ECTS in teaching methodologies of both majors * Minimum of 12 ECTS in educational science * Three-week orientation school internship at a "Gymnasium", vocational school or "Gemeinschaftsschule" with upper secondary level
