📋 Program Hakkında

The research-oriented Master's program "Health Economics" is offered by the Faculty of Economics at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Campus Essen. In this program, students acquire the necessary professional knowledge, skills, and methods in education related to the general and scientific professional world, taking into account changes and requirements in the professional world. They are enabled to work scientifically, critically classify scientific findings, and act responsibly. The program particularly imparts knowledge and skills that enable students to work successfully in the healthcare industry and related fields. Students should be enabled to contribute independently to solving problems by applying knowledge in the field of health economics and to critically classify scientific findings. The research-oriented program aims to qualify students for activities at the interface between science and management practice in healthcare. Potential career fields include junior positions in economic and specifically health economic research, consultant positions in healthcare associations, management functions in healthcare facilities, positions in consulting institutions, staff positions, process and quality management in medical networks, medical care centers, or integrated care. The passed Master's examination entitles to doctoral studies.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Bachelor's degree in Economics (B.Sc.) or an equivalent or comparable degree program in Business Administration (e.g., Business Administration, Medical Management, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Business Mathematics) or another suitable degree program with a minor in economics worth at least 48 credits * Bachelor's degree with a minimum grade of 3.0 * A total of at least 24 ECTS in Microeconomics (Consumer Theory and Theory of the Firm), Statistics, and Econometrics, with all areas covered * Knowledge of statistics (descriptive, inductive), econometrics, microeconomics (consumer theory, theory of the firm), and mathematical knowledge (algebra, analysis) is required. Basic knowledge in health economics is advantageous
