📋 Program Hakkında

The Biology B.Ed. program is a teaching degree for secondary schools. The program consists of two major subjects (with Biology as one) plus educational science studies. Students must earn 180 ECTS credits over 6 semesters (or 8 semesters if combined with Art or Music). Biology can be combined with Chemistry, German, Geography, Computer Science, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Philosophy/Ethics, Physics, Sports, Art, or Music. The Biology component includes modules on structure and function of life, physiology, molecular biology, biodiversity, biological and biochemical concepts, biological methods, and didactics. After completing both Bachelor and Master of Education degrees plus preparatory service, graduates can teach at general secondary schools, community schools, and vocational schools.

* Higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) or equivalent * For non-EU/EEA nationals with foreign school-leaving certificates: may require university entrance examination and/or successful year of study in home country * Participation in the teacher orientation test ("Career Counselling for Teachers" (CCT)) * For the selection procedure: school performance and other achievements are considered

* German language proficiency at minimum C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) * For graduates of German-speaking schools: higher education entrance qualification is sufficient proof * For others: DSH-2, TestDaF level 4 in all four parts, or comparable recognized certificate required
