📋 Program Hakkında

The Master of Science in Medical Physics is a 120 credit point program that combines physics and medicine. The research-oriented program offers specialization in the areas of: radiation physics, dosimetry, radiation protection and nuclear medicine; medical imaging and optics; physical foundations of medical technology; and biophysics. The curriculum includes core modules in biophysics, experimental physics, medical technology, optics and imaging techniques, radiation physics, and radiation medicine. Students complete a master's thesis (30 CP) in the fourth semester. The program offers various elective modules in specialized areas. Through the integration of medical subjects, essential training content necessary for acquiring expertise in radiation protection is already taught during the studies. The program is certified by the German Society for Medical Physics (DGMP). According to the university website, the consecutive Master's program offers a research-oriented education in physics with a medical-physical specialization in the areas of: Biophysics, Physical Foundations of Medical Technology, Radiation Physics, Dosimetry, Radiation Protection and Nuclear Medicine, Medical Imaging and Optics.

* Bachelor's degree in Medical Physics (180 CP) or Physics (180 CP), or another comparable first professional university degree * Knowledge in experimental and theoretical physics, mathematics, and scientific foundations of medicine (physiology, anatomy, biochemistry) must be demonstrated * Solid English language skills and confident handling of English literature are strongly recommended * Some courses and examinations are offered in English
