The bachelor's program Automotive Engineering with teacher training is the first step towards acquiring the qualifications needed to teach this subject at vocational schools. The program teaches knowledge and skills of the fundamentals of automotive engineering, teaching methodology, and educational science. The technical component includes a basic education in math and engineering and addresses topics such as rail vehicle and automotive engineering, vehicle engines, and automotive electronics. The teacher training components focus on learning conditions, education, and shaping learning processes. The program includes a six-week professional development internship at a school for initial teaching experience. This degree can be selected as a core or secondary subject and must be supplemented with another subject. The program consists of 90 LP in the core subject (including a 10 LP bachelor's thesis), 60 LP in a secondary subject, and 30 LP in teacher training components. Students must also complete a 26-week prevocational internship by the time they register their bachelor's thesis.
