The Master's program in Literary Studies: Aesthetics - Literature - Philosophy focuses on analyzing the complex interplay of rhetorical, aesthetic, media, and material practices. The aim is to convey aesthetics, literature, and philosophy from a cultural-theoretical perspective. European literatures and philosophies are explored in their reception and interaction context. Literature is not understood as the sum of individual national literatures, but as a subject with transcultural dimensions. The Master's program is characterized by multi-perspective approaches. It examines questions about European literatures, their description, canon formation, relationships to other knowledge cultures and media, boundaries between languages, literatures and cultures, interactions between philosophy and literature, and the emergence and future of world literature. The program emphasizes the methodological role of literature for cultural studies and the interdisciplinary exploration of the historical framework conditions of aesthetics, literature, and philosophy.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Bachelor's degree (180 ECTS) with at least 30 ECTS in Literary Studies, Philosophy, or Cultural Studies * Language proficiency in one European language at level B2 (UNIcert II) and another European language at level B1 (UNIcert I), one of which must be English

* Required: Proficiency in one European language at level B2 (UNIcert II or equivalent) * Required: Proficiency in another European language at level B1 (UNIcert I or equivalent) * One of these languages must be English * Non-standard requirements: For non-native German speakers who did not obtain their university entrance qualification in Germany, proof of sufficient German language skills according to the DSH examination regulations of the Language Center of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) is required
