The Master of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Siegen allows students to deepen their technical expertise while cultivating a holistic approach to complex projects. The program focuses on sustainable infrastructure, construction and real estate management, digitalization in the industry (BIM), and addressing environmental challenges. Students can specialize in one of three profile areas: Structural Engineering, Water and Environment, or Transportation and Road Engineering. The curriculum includes topics such as energy-efficient planning and construction, building under changing climatic conditions, bridge construction, environmental geotechnics, flood protection, water quality, intelligent traffic control, and sustainable road construction. Students learn to develop individual solutions using modern tools like digital planning methods (BIM), numerical processes, finite element methods (FEM), and modeling and simulation. The course includes compulsory and core elective modules, two research papers, and culminates in a four-month master's thesis.
