The Biotechnology of Marine Resources program focuses on developing innovative and sustainable solutions to current societal challenges such as climate change and pandemics. The program works interdisciplinarily, combining areas of bioanalytics with bioprocess engineering and the use of organisms and cells. The program particularly focuses on the sea, examining the diversity of marine resources and their potential for biotechnological use. The work and research opportunities of the Alfred Wegener Institute, the Thünen Institutes, and regional and international companies offer diverse content orientations for dealing with the use of the sea.

* General higher education entrance qualification (Allgemeine Hochschulreife), university of applied sciences entrance qualification (Fachhochschulreife), or an equivalent recognized educational qualification * Since spring 2024, a 3-year vocational training leads to a subject-specific university entrance qualification * For foreign students: German language proficiency at C1 level
