📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's degree programme in Biophysics at Saarland University focuses on the application of physical principles and methods to study biological processes, particularly the biophysics of cellular systems. Students learn to apply advanced mathematical, computer-assisted and experimental methods to solve complex questions in biophysics. The curriculum includes modules in theoretical and experimental biophysics, as well as modules in selected non-biophysical subjects and key world-of-work skills. In the first year, students receive training in theoretical biophysics (nonlinear dynamics, stochastic processes, statistical physics) and experimental biophysics (advanced concepts of cellular biophysics). The second year is characterized as a research phase, preparing students for their Master's thesis. Graduates have excellent career prospects in industry, research organizations, and public institutions, working in areas such as natural and engineering sciences, laser technology, and medicine.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Bachelor or equivalent university degree with focus on biophysics, biology, physics or a related field * Special aptitude for Master's studies, usually demonstrated by a Bachelor's degree with an overall grade of 2.5 or better, or by an aptitude test * Professional competence in nonlinear dynamics, thermodynamics and statistical physics, in cell and molecular biology as well as genetics, and basic knowledge of biochemistry * At least 20 credit points each in physics and biology lectures and exercises from Bachelor's studies * At least 20 credit points from practical courses

* English: B2 level according to the European Framework of Reference * If you have a degree from a German school and have taken English classes for at least 6 years up to and including the senior classes, your high school diploma is sufficient * If proof is not available, provisional admission can be granted with the condition that required language skills are acquired within one semester
