📋 Program Hakkında

The master's programme in geodesy and geoinformatics is divided into three study tracks: Geomatics, Remote Sensing and GIS, and Navigation and Field Robotics. The Navigation and Field Robotics track focuses on automated and autonomous systems that operate in complex real-world environments. The program teaches skills in positioning, navigation, environmental sensing, data structuring, and innovative filtering and AI methods. It combines aspects of geodesy (sensors, navigation, environmental sensing, evaluation methods, cartographic communication) with robotics technologies. Course content includes autonomous systems, mechatronics, data science with focus on environmental data, highly accurate maps, navigation and GNSS, robotics and computer vision, sensors and measurement technology, engineering surveying, informatics and software development, and geodesy and geoinformatics. Note that this study track cannot be studied entirely in English – some compulsory modules are only offered in German.

* Minimum degree required: An undergraduate degree in a related field of study, such as Geodesy and Geoinformatics (Bachelor of Science), Civil and Environmental Engineering (Bachelor of Science), Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (Bachelor of Science), Power Engineering (Bachelor of Science), Computer Science (Bachelor of Science), Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor of Science), Mechatronics (Bachelor of Science), Sustainable Engineering (Bachelor of Science), Nanotechnology (Bachelor of Science), or Computer Engineering (Bachelor of Science) * Non-academic requirements: Interest in subject-specific and research-oriented interrelations, openness to new lines of scientific enquiry, creativity, openness to criticism, and responsible-mindedness * Other requirements: A sound knowledge of engineering, mathematics and programming is a prerequisite
