The Master's degree programme "Historical Studies in a European Perspective" at Saarland University is the programme of choice for anyone looking to undertake advanced studies in history with special emphasis on European history. The M.A. programme offers students the opportunity to study and address major issues in European history. The curriculum covers the entire gamut of European history, addressing all historical periods from classical antiquity up to the present day and viewed from the perspective of the two major thematic subfields: economic and social history and cultural and media history. The European dimension and European aspects are at the centre of these studies. Special taught courses, cross-border projects and specially designed work placements underscore the core focus of the programme. The numerous contacts that the Department of History at Saarland University maintains to other universities and research institutes throughout Europe enables students to apply their knowledge in an international context. Another aspect of the programme is the inclusion of career-related elements that allow students to acquire additional career-relevant, world-of-work qualifications. Graduates from the Master's degree programme "Historical Studies in a European Perspective" are particularly well qualified for career positions with a strong European dimension. ✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education degree with a focus on history. In justified exceptional cases, degrees in other subjects may be recognized. * Minimum Grade Required: Final grade in history of 2.7 or better. * Other requirements: Proof of knowledge of two modern foreign languages (one must be English or French) sufficient to independently evaluate sources and presentations written in these languages (comparable to passive language requirements according to B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages). Proof of knowledge of Latin sufficient to independently evaluate sources written in this language (Latin knowledge level 2). In justified individual cases, proof of knowledge of Latin can be replaced by proof of knowledge of a third modern foreign language or another ancient cultural language. Professional competencies in the field of history, proven by credits earned in the amount of at least 83 CP or proof of three basic knowledge modules from two of the three major epochs (Ancient History, Medieval History, Modern History) or equivalent academic achievements.
