📋 Program Hakkında

The master's programme Communication and Society in Ibero-America focuses on the social dimensions of communication in the Ibero-American macro-region and its contact areas. It provides students with interdisciplinary perspectives and area-specific knowledge on issues relevant for Ibero-American societies. Students approach social and communication dynamics in political and economic spaces of the Ibero-American macro-region, with regard to Ibero-American cultures, peoples, and their natural environments, and related to linguistic and socio-cognitive phenomena. The program features area studies with a focus on societal and communication dynamics, interdisciplinary integration of different perspectives, multi-perspective methodological toolkit, multimodal learning environments, and an international study setting with a stay abroad as an integrated part of the study program. The HCIAS Master's Program critically engages with current social, political, economic, and environmental debates across Ibero-America, emphasizing their expression in social and public communication. Students examine pressing questions on social movements, sustainability, migration, political transformation, and the media's influence on public opinion.

* A degree in a humanities or social sciences program with good results. The degree program should have a study duration of at least three years. * Proficiency in English (C1 CEFRL) * Proficiency in Spanish (B1 CEFRL; if not available for study start: to be proven until the end of the second semester at the latest)
