Geology is a research-oriented master's degree program that features a high share of practical field, laboratory and computer-assisted work. The program focuses on exogenous processes of the Earth and offers courses with emphasis on: General Geology, Applied Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Geology, Geological Risks, Sedimentology and Structural Geology. Students can create individual degree profiles to match their personal interests, abilities and professional plans. The program includes compulsory modules common to all three geosciences master's degree programs (Paleontology, Geology and Geochemistry/Petrology). Possible career paths include applied geology (groundwater resources, development aid, environmental protection, georisks), ministries and government offices, geological services, raw materials exploration, industrial sector, public relations, museums, and academia.
