📋 Program Hakkında

This is an integrated German-French double degree program where students study French/Lettres modernes at both JGU Mainz and Université Bourgogne Europe (UBE) in Dijon, France. Students spend three semesters at each university and earn both a German Bachelor of Education and a French Licence degree. The program focuses on French language, literature, and culture, complemented by language teaching methodology. Students must combine this program with one of the following subjects: German/Allemand, English/Anglais, Geography/Géographie, History/Histoire, or Philosophy/Ethics. The program prepares students primarily for teaching careers at gymnasiums (high schools) in both Germany and France, but also offers opportunities in various international career fields. The curriculum consists of five main pillars: language studies (30%), literary studies (25%), linguistics (25%), cultural studies (15%), and teaching methodology (5%). During the program, students complete three three-week school internships, with one of these taking place in a French-speaking country.

* Sufficient French language skills (typically demonstrated through five years of school education with a minimum grade of 'sufficient' or 5 points) * Alternative qualifications: high school diploma from a French-speaking school, Abi-Bac, or French Baccalauréat * Must be combined with one of these subjects: German/Allemand, English/Anglais, Geography/Géographie, History/Histoire, or Philosophy/Ethics * This program is part of the Bachelor of Education degree (for high school teaching) * Interest in spending half of the study time in France and getting to know the country, people and culture * Enjoyment of new experiences, enthusiasm for the French language, and courage for self-initiative and self-organization
