📋 Program Hakkında

This MSc degree in Geosciences is the foundation for students pursuing employment in industry, hydrogeological fields, state and federal government agencies, and other related geoscience fields. The program allows students to develop specialized expertise within their chosen area of geosciences through advanced coursework and original research in a Master's thesis. The GMG offers a wide array of disciplines within one institute with an international team of instructors and a bi-national study program. Students can design their individualized program together with a prospective MSc advisor based on their interests. Specialized study streams include crystallography and geomaterials, economic geology, engineering geology, experimental rock physics, hydrogeology, geochemistry, observational seismology, and structural geology. Fieldwork is an integral part of the training, ranging from local and regional field trips to more advanced structural mapping courses.

* Minimum degree required: BSc degree in the geosciences or a related field * No numerus clausus (NC) * Mandatory consultation with subject advisor before application * Interest in the earth as a whole * Ability to work on interdisciplinary projects, combining field studies with lab experiments

* CEFR: B2 (English) * TOEFL: 550 (written), 215 (computer-based), 79 (internet-based) * IELTS: 6.0 or better * Non-standard requirements: German Abitur or comparable proof is accepted * Non-standard requirements: For Applied Geology specialization, German language skills at B2 level are required (certified by TestDAF 4x4 or DSH 2)
