📋 Program Hakkında

Interdisciplinary Studies of the Middle East (ISME) is a two-year, tuition-free, full-time master's program taught in English on the campus in Berlin. Freie Universität's expertise in cultural studies of the Middle East – represented by Arabic Studies, Iranian Studies, Islamic Studies, Jewish Studies, Kurdish Studies, Ottoman Studies, Semitic Studies, and Turcology – comes together for this master's program to offer students the possibility to approach this fascinating and complex region from multi-faceted and interregional perspectives taking into account the diversity of languages, literatures, societies, religions, and cultures of this region. As a consecutive program, it builds on knowledge about the Middle East and skills from the field of humanities, cultural studies, and philologies that have been acquired in the course of a bachelor program or through professional qualification.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Bachelor's degree with 180 credit points, including at least 60 credit points in Middle East-related studies * Alternative path: fewer than 60 credits in related fields but with evidence of appropriate qualifications * Selection based on: academic performance (max 60 points), academic background (max 45 points), and other qualifications (max 45 points) * Selection process ranks candidates based on total points (max 150) * Applicants can still apply if degree not yet completed, provided at least 2/3 of coursework is evaluated and thesis is in progress

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* English: C1 CEFR level required (if first university degree was not completed in English) * Middle Eastern language: B1 CEFR level or higher in one of the following languages: Arabic, Armenian, Hebrew, Kurdish, Ottoman Turkish, Persian, Syrian-Aramaic, or Turkish * No German language proficiency required
