📋 Program Hakkında

The consecutive Master's degree program in Computer Science at the University of Bonn is strongly research-oriented and focuses on the theoretical modelling of real-world problems in the form of algorithms and their application. Theoretical computer science delivers the necessary fundamentals, while practical computer science develops methods and concepts to solve these problems. Technical computer science meanwhile focuses on fundamental characteristics of hardware, with application and realization being subject to the field of applied computer science. The curriculum is closely linked to ongoing research at the institute, giving students the opportunity to gain insights into current developments in information technologies. Students can specialize in one of four research areas (tracks): Algorithmics; Graphics/Vision/Audio; Information and Communication Management; or Intelligent Systems. The program has no compulsory modules, allowing students to choose freely from available modules each semester, provided they earn 88 ECTS in lectures, labs, and seminars, with at least 31 ECTS in their chosen specialization track and at least 27 ECTS in other tracks. The remaining 32 ECTS come from the Master's thesis and its presentation.
