📋 Program Hakkında

The international Master's program Geomaterials and Geochemistry is a cooperation of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Technische Universität München (TUM). The Master's program runs two years and comprises 120 ECTS points. During the four semesters, students will gain detailed knowledge of physical and chemical properties of materials. In specialized elective modules, students will receive training in both state-of-the-art analytical and experimental lab methods as well as field-based methods. The program allows students to explore challenging scientific projects and to learn innovative approaches for solving problems in Earth and materials sciences. Various practical laboratory and field courses provide students with an overall quantitative understanding in state-of-the-art analytical, numerical and experimental techniques that ideally prepare for a successful future career. The structure of the program enables specialization in a cross-disciplinary range of designed modules encompassing applied mineralogy, crystallography, geochemistry, materials sciences, petrology, and volcanology. The program comprises mandatory modules covering fundamental concepts and analytical methods, plus various elective modules for individual specialization.

* Successful Bachelor's degree in geosciences with emphasis on mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry, and crystallography * Excellent students with Bachelor's degrees in related fields (Earth sciences, materials sciences, physics, or chemistry) are also encouraged to apply * Academic aptitude evaluation by a committee

* English: C1 level (e.g., test certificate, B.Sc. program in English language) * German: A1 level (can be submitted within the first year after admission)
