The Bachelor's degree programme in Historical Methodology equips students with fundamental skills and basic specialist knowledge within the field of historical methodology, focusing particularly on the Medieval period. Historians develop knowledge of this era by drawing on sources in Medieval Latin. Graduates can research and interpret new, unexplored historical sources. Students learn about historical dimensions of language, imagery, traditions, rites, rituals, and forms of expression. The programme qualifies students for employment, enabling them to independently assess historical sources and respond to questions within the field. Students acquire skills for independent work in various cultural fields and the information and communication sectors. The programme consists of four modules, with two basic modules in the first four semesters, followed by a specialized module and an excursion module. Students must complete at least one practice class in diplomatics or palaeography and select at least two different subdisciplines of historical methodology.
