📋 Program Hakkında

The Master of Arts in Interreligious Studies addresses the increased social and academic demand for interreligious competence and offers comprehensive training in questions of relationship and understanding between different religions. The program stands at the intersection of humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies. Students learn to interpret theological texts and themes from different religions in a scientifically sound manner. The program provides theological, historical, social, cultural, and critical-hermeneutical competencies, enabling students to deepen their understanding of religious theology in engagement with beliefs and practices of other religious traditions. It is a joint Master's program with the Universities of Basel and Strasbourg, as well as the Heidelberg School of Jewish Studies. Students must earn at least 30 ECTS points in Heidelberg and at least 30 points at one or more partner institutions.

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree in theology or religious studies with a standard study period of at least three years, OR a degree in programs with essentially the same content from a domestic or foreign university with a standard study period of at least three years, OR a Bachelor's degree in linguistics, cultural or social sciences recognized as equivalent by the admissions committee with a standard study period of at least three years.
