📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program in Crop Sciences (Nutzpflanzenwissenschaften) is designed as a consecutive, research-oriented program. The goal is to provide in-depth knowledge, theories, methods, procedures, and questions in crop science disciplines through an interdisciplinary approach, enabling students to conduct scientific work, develop scientifically-based judgment abilities, critically evaluate scientific findings, and act responsibly in professional and social contexts. The program is supported by a high density of university and non-university research institutions in the field of crop sciences located in the Halle region. These institutions have established the Interdisciplinary Center for Crop Sciences (IZN) at MLU to promote cooperative research and scientific education. The program integrates four focus areas: Plant Breeding and Plant Genetics, Plant Nutrition, Plant Physiology and Yield Formation, and Phytopathology and Plant Protection. Graduates are qualified for crop-oriented professional fields in research, production, services, and education at universities, non-university institutions, and in industry. Successful completion also qualifies for doctoral studies in Crop Sciences and related fields.

* First qualifying university degree (usually Bachelor) in Agricultural Sciences, Biology, or Biochemistry with at least 180 credit points or comparable * A comparable program requires knowledge in basic natural sciences (Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics) and prior knowledge in Botany * Bridge modules may be recommended if necessary * If the qualifying degree is not yet available at the time of application, proof of at least 2/3 of the required academic achievements must be provided, with the certificate to be submitted within four months after the start of studies
