Celtic Studies examine the languages, literatures and cultures of Celtic-speaking countries and regions from antiquity until today. The program's main focus is on Celtic languages (Irish Gaelic, Scottish Gaelic, Welsh) as an important medium through which cultural heritage is conveyed. Students acquire basic knowledge of Celtic history and methods of Celtic studies, and may learn selected modern and/or medieval Celtic languages. The program connects teaching content with real life through movie nights and field trips. This is a minor program that must be combined with a second subject. Possible career paths include education, culture, publishing, media/communications, and academia.
