📋 Program Hakkında

This is an integrated German-French dual degree program where students study both in Germany and France. Students choose French along with another subject from the Mainz-Dijon program offerings and study for three semesters each at JGU Mainz and the Université Bourgogne Europe (UBE) in Dijon. Upon completion, students receive both a German Bachelor of Arts and a French Licence degree. The French studies component focuses intensively on the language and cultural history of France, examining regional and national identities, challenges in pluralistic societies, and their reflection in literature. Students also study the French language, its influencing factors, and everyday language use in various social contexts. At the partner university in Dijon, students study 'Lettres Modernes' as native language philology, broadening their perspective on the subject.

* Sufficient French language skills, typically demonstrated through five years of school education with a minimum grade of 'sufficient' or 5 points * Alternative qualifications: high school diploma from a French-speaking school, Abi-Bac, or French Baccalauréat * Willingness to spend half of the study time in France and get to know the country, people, and culture * Interest in French language, culture, and self-organization skills * Must be combined with one of these subjects: American Studies/Anglais (B.A.), German Studies/Allemand (B.A.), History/Histoire (B.A.), Comparative Literature/European Literature (B.A.), or Philosophy (B.A.) * Program structure: First two semesters in Mainz, followed by three semesters at the Université Bourgogne Europe (UBE) in Dijon
