📋 Program Hakkında

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Informatics is a teaching degree program that prepares students to become secondary school teachers. The program consists of two major subjects (with Informatics being one of them) and educational science studies. Students must earn 180 ECTS credits over the regular study period of 6 semesters. Informatics can be combined with Biology, Chemistry, German, Geography, Mathematics, Philosophy/Ethics, Physics, Sports, Art, or Music. A combination with Mathematics is recommended as mathematical foundations are prerequisites for this program. The Informatics curriculum includes modules such as Basic Concepts of Computer Science, Programming, Algorithms, Software Engineering, Theoretical Foundations of Computer Science, Operating Systems or Computer Organization, Communication and Data Management, and Computer Science Teaching Methodology.

* General higher education entrance qualification (Abitur) * Subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification (not Fachhochschulreife) * Delta examination of the University of Mannheim (for holders of a Fachhochschulreife) * Recognized advanced vocational training or vocational training with professional experience and aptitude test * Participation in the Teacher Orientation Test ("Career Counselling for Teachers" (CCT)) is required for enrollment
