📋 Program Hakkında

The Language Dynamics Master's programme focuses on acquisition, variation and change in three main areas of linguistic research: psycholinguistics, language contact and language change. Students have the opportunity to participate in ongoing research projects within these disciplines. The programme examines how languages are acquired, how new languages develop from older ones, why languages become extinct, and how languages adapt throughout society, time and space. The subject languages focused on are provided by the four philologies at the University of Oldenburg: English, German, Dutch and Slavic. The Master's programme is research-related and prepares students for an academic career. It consists of a profile course unit (15 ECTS), setting specializations (60 ECTS), area of specialization (15 ECTS), and final Master's course unit (30 ECTS).

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Linguistics or General Language Studies or in a closely related field worth at least 60 credit points * A degree in a philological study program with 60 credit points and a Bachelor's thesis on a linguistic topic also qualifies
