The Bachelor's degree programme in Chemistry with a 100% weighting aims to equip students with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of Chemistry. Students gain basic knowledge in a variety of fields, acquire experimental skills, and develop the ability to think independently and behave responsibly. Graduates have a good overview of the nature of chemical bonds and are able to apply appropriate methods to solve research questions in the field of chemistry. The broad academic programme prepares students to undertake independent research. The program provides students with a solid grounding in chemistry and related disciplines, preparing them to stay abreast of new developments and contribute to further research and technology development. In addition to theoretical and practical skills in inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry, students gain knowledge in mathematics, physics, spectroscopy, biochemistry, and safety. Students can also select compulsory elective modules to develop knowledge in specific areas of chemistry or other subject areas. The program concludes with a final oral examination and Bachelor's thesis.
