📋 Program Hakkında

The 2-year Master course is based upon your own proposal of study. Your proposal is evaluated in the entrance examination and it will be the guiding line throughout your complete study. This concept guarantees an ultimate level of individuality in the professional profiles of graduates. The MFA Gemstones and Jewellery concept is simple: A good artistic basis doesn't need perspective guidance. The university supplies time (2 years), space, discussions, and opportunities, while the student supplies content, energy, and concentration. The program requires 120 ECTS credits. The educational goal is to train students for research-related professional activity in gemstones and jewellery fields. Graduates can work independently and creatively with broad and in-depth knowledge and analytical methods. The department has about 50 students from 25 different nationalities with a maximum occupancy of 72 students. With a team of 4 professors, 5 teaching staff members, about 10 external lecturers and 5 service staff members, intensive guidance is guaranteed. Students have 24/7 access to well-equipped studios including diverse jewellery workshops, a wood workshop, a CAD laboratory, a photo studio, an atelier for painting and sculpting, a library, and a large gemstone workshop.

* Certified vocational training * At least 3 years of relevant professional practice * Pass the entrance application procedure (identical to the MFA entrance application procedure) * The university must ascertain the equivalence of your professional practice with a German bachelor degree

* Non-standard requirements: English communication ability is assessed during the interview. No TOEFL-test or other certificates are required.
