📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's degree program in Data Science builds on a solid Bachelor's background and offers the opportunity to deepen knowledge and engage with cutting-edge technologies. The program operates at the intersection of scientific innovation and industrial progress. Students are introduced to AI-supported decision-making based on existing mathematical models to address important societal issues. There is a special focus on the quantification of uncertainties as well as causal and Bayesian inference. Students learn state-of-the-art techniques in reinforcement learning and data assimilation, which are continuously being developed to make better predictions and decisions in critical areas such as climate change, weather forecasting and medical research. The program also covers IT tools such as cloud computing and data management, which are essential for modern data analysis. A cooperation with LUT University in Finland offers the opportunity to complete this degree program as a double degree. The program is research-oriented and provides graduates with comprehensive knowledge in modern data processing and analysis. Graduates develop professional competencies in areas such as Bayesian data assimilation, sequential decision making, advanced deep learning, causal inference, and cloud computing, preparing them for careers as Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Data Analysts, Digital Twin Developers, or AI Product Managers.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* First university degree (e.g., bachelor's degree) in a similar field * Admission based on a point system with three categories: - Bachelor's Degree (30 points for Data Science, Statistics, or similar; 25 points for Mathematics; 20 points for Computer Science) - Grade Point Average (10 points for average grade better than 1.5; 5 points for average grade of 2.0 or better) - Relevant Coursework (5-15 points based on completed ECTS in specific areas) * Admission Decision Based on Total Points: - 50+ points: Meet admission requirements - 35-49 points: Possible admission with additional course requirements - Less than 35 points: Does not meet admission requirements * Required prior knowledge in specific areas including: - Analysis and linear algebra (15 LP) - Mathematics of Data Science (5 LP) - Optimization and Numerics (15 LP) - Probability theory and Statistics (10 LP) - Discrete Mathematics (5 LP) - Programming, Algorithms and theoretical computer science (15 LP) - Databases (5 LP) - Software Development (10 LP) - Machine Learning (10 LP) - Ethical and social aspects of data science (5 LP)
