The Bachelor's program in Protestant Church Music forms the basis of training for professional church music service. In addition to general admission requirements, musical talent appropriate to future professional requirements is necessary, which is determined through an aptitude test. The Bachelor's degree in Protestant Church Music from HfK Heidelberg is recognized by all member churches of the EKD (Evangelical Church in Germany). With above-average performance in the Bachelor's examination, admission to the Master's program in Protestant Church Music or specialization through advanced artistic training is possible. The training curriculum is tailored to a practical, community-oriented study concept. Additionally, the elective module allows for individual specialization.

* General university entrance qualification (Hochschulreife) * Musical talent appropriate to future professional requirements * Aptitude test (Eignungsprüfung) including: - Organ: Performance of three organ chorales from Bach's "Orgelbüchlein" and another organ work of medium difficulty. Sight-reading. - Organ improvisation and community accompaniment: Harmonization. Melodic improvisation. Improvising an intonation for a hymn. - Piano: Performance of two pieces of medium difficulty from different styles. - Singing: Performance of two pieces from different styles. - Choral conducting: Rehearsing a multi-voice singing form. Discussion about previous choral singing practice. - Ear training: Recognition of intervals, simple chords and their inversions. Notation of melodies and rhythms. Sight-singing a choir part. - Composition: Playing four-voice cadences in all keys and positions. Proof of elementary knowledge in general music theory. * For applicants without Hochschulreife: Proof of special musical talent and sufficient general education
