📋 Program Hakkında

The M.A. programme "Art History" at Saarland University offers a novel combination of established fields (painting, drawing, sculpture, architecture and applied arts from the Middle Ages) with contemporary developments that are expanding the traditional canon of art history. The M.A. programme focuses particularly on photography, film and new media art. A module on world art is designed to challenge the dominant European perspective on the history of art. The programme aims to develop and strengthen the world-of-work skills required by employers. Students attend exhibitions and events to acquire an appreciation of museum work or care and preservation of historical monuments. Students will also receive an introduction to art criticism and will take part in excursions where they will learn to handle original artefacts. Graduates are well qualified for positions in museums, universities, research institutions, curating work, exhibition management, art trade, preservation of historic monuments, media, publishing, tourism, cultural management, charitable foundations, or adult education.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent higher education degree with a focus on visual arts, art history or a related field * Minimum Grade Required: Bachelor's degree with an overall grade of 2.5 or better, or demonstrated special interest in the subject determined through a personal interview * Language requirements: Advanced level of English, knowledge of another modern foreign language, and Latin knowledge
