📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's degree programme 'German Language and Literature' at Saarland University provides students with an opportunity to learn skills that play a key role in today's society, helping them to prepare for successful future employment, including career paths within higher education (via a subsequent doctoral research degree). Students on the M.A. programme can select from three areas of specialization: 1) German language, literature and cultural practice - focusing on analysis of literary texts from Middle Ages to present day, film and theatrical works, and critical textual editing; 2) German linguistics - engaging in advanced study of linguistic problems in syntax, semantics, pragmatics, morphology, phonetics/phonology, language history and psycholinguistics; 3) German as a foreign language / German as a second language - focusing on linguistic, psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic foundations of multilingualism and language acquisition. The programme consists of 120 CP total, with 71 CP for the main subject, 27 CP for the subsidiary subject, and 22 CP for the Master's thesis in the main subject.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* For specialization in "German language, literature and cultural practice": Bachelor's or equivalent degree with focus on German studies with a final grade of 2.3 or better; Subject competencies in German studies of at least 63 CP, with at least 30 CP in German literary studies. * For specialization in "German linguistics": Bachelor's or equivalent degree with linguistic components of at least 30 CP and a final grade of 2.3 or better; Proof of passing Module C in the Bachelor's program or teaching degree in German studies at Saar University or a comparable module. * For specialization in "German as a foreign language / German as a second language": Bachelor's or equivalent degree in a cultural studies or philological subject with a final grade of 2.3 or better; Proof of passing Module C in the Bachelor's program or teaching degree in German studies at Saar University or a comparable module. * For all specializations: If equivalence of the submitted degree cannot be determined, provisional admission with conditions is possible; In case of a final grade worse than 2.3, admission may be granted considering special relevant subject knowledge.
