📋 Program Hakkında

After completing the Diploma / Bachelor of Music in Composition, students can take a four-semester Master course at the Folkwang University of the Arts. The Master study course in Composition allows students to consolidate the skills acquired in the Bachelor study course and foster a compositional focus based on the continuing cultivation of their own aesthetics. The Master study course is a project course, in which the focus is on the compositional work on a large-scale project or a thematically coherent series of projects. It is eminently desirable for several of the Integrative Composition artistic subjects to be integrated. The study course covers four main fields: Instrumental Composition, Electronic Composition, Pop Composition, and Composition and Visualisation. The modules include categories such as Composition/Project work, Master seminar for depiction, exchange and discussion of the Master project, Master tutorials for didactic preparation, and Master thesis. There is also a major elective area from the entire Integrative Composition field.

* Minimum degree required: Evidence of a first university degree which the Master study course is based on * Non-academic requirements: Evidence of artistic aptitude or outstanding artistic talent by passing the aptitude test at the Folkwang University of the Arts

* Non-standard requirements: Proof of language level B1 with enrolment * The required levels of language skills are in accordance to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)
