Electrical and Electronic Engineering (B.Sc.): Electrical engineering and information technology are among the most important areas in industry and business today. Engineers trained in Germany as carriers of know-how in these technologies enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide. The aim of this Bachelor's program is to prepare students for their professional activity as engineers in areas previously occupied by graduates of diploma programs in electrical engineering and information technology. The level of education and the standard study period of the Bachelor's program allow, in addition to the classic career entry as an electrical engineer, also an entry into types of activities that are more likely to be assigned to the non-scientific area. These include activities in service, testing, production, sales, project planning, consulting and marketing related to electrical components, devices and systems at manufacturing companies, the specification, procurement, testing and integration as well as operation and maintenance of components, devices and systems at user companies and service providers. The broadly diversified fields of application require an equally broad education in the mathematical-scientific foundations necessary for technical subjects, engineering foundations from electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science, as well as in-depth training in the core areas of electrical engineering: electrical power engineering, communication technology, and electronics. The additional non-technical subjects are intended to promote the professional ability of graduates who will work in teams and whose products must also be economically competitive in international competition. The Bachelor's education should also enable continuous further education, familiarization with new areas of work and, beyond that, continuation of studies in a Master's program. The program follows a structured approach with a common first year for all ISE Bachelor programs taught entirely in English, covering Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. After the first year, students focus on discipline-specific core subjects. The program includes electives for specialization, an industrial internship for practical experience, non-technical subjects to enhance general education and language skills, a group project using scientific methods, and concludes with a bachelor thesis.
