📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's programme in Literary Studies enables an interdisciplinary study of literature in the context of other sign practices and media. It is aimed at graduates of bachelor's programmes in literary studies as well as media and cultural studies with a focus on literary studies and an interest in processes of production, change and disturbance of meaning that are emerging or taking place in literature and other forms of representation and media. The program offers literary-theoretical, comparative, poetological, cultural and media studies perspectives on European and American literatures and cultures. It is transphilologically oriented and supports interdisciplinary exchange with other subjects such as media studies, religious studies, cultural anthropology, history, philosophy and linguistics. The program offers intensive, personal supervision by mentors and promotes the development of individual research interests in colloquia, workshops and supervised self-study units. It is research- and theory-oriented and offers the opportunity to prepare for a subsequent doctorate.

✅ Giriş / Kabul Koşulları

* Minimum degree required: An above-average degree from a relevant university course in literary studies, individual philologies, e.g. media or cultural studies (focus on literary studies) of at least six semesters standard period of study * Minimum Grade Required: Final grade 2.3 or better * Non-academic requirements: Graduates of cultural studies, philosophy or media studies who wish to expand their literary and analytical skills must explain their special motivation for the course of study to the Master's programme officer

🗣 Dil Gereksinimleri

* German: Level B1 required for international applicants upon application * Non-standard requirements: Proof of two modern foreign languages at level B1 of the European Frame of Reference by the end of the course of study. The languages to be proven depend on the chosen program focus.
