📋 Program Hakkında

The master's degree program in Physics provides a further research-oriented qualification. The areas of specialization are aligned with the University's main fields of research: hadron/particle physics and condensed matter/photonics. The four-semester program is taught entirely in English and is divided into one year of courses and another of research. In the course phase (first two semesters), students take advanced compulsory courses including relativistic quantum theory and a lab course with selected experiments from modern physics, plus electives from a range of advanced lectures and seminars. Highlights include Intensive Weeks where students tackle research-related topics in small groups. The research phase (third and fourth semesters) involves finding a thesis topic, literature studies, lab work, and writing the master's thesis independently. Students become an integral part of a working group at the University or an affiliated research institute, making their own creative contribution to current research. The program concludes with a colloquium where students present their research findings.
