📋 Program Hakkında

This Master's program focuses on the foundations and methods of humanities, social, cultural, natural and engineering sciences. It explores how scientific concepts and theories are formed, the values guiding science, logical approaches to analyzing scientific theories, arguments and findings, valid conclusions and logical systems in different fields of science, and the role of science in society. It is unique as the only Master's degree program in the German-speaking world combining reflection on theory and history of science with cultural and social science perspectives and intensive study of philosophical and non-classical logic. Students can specialize in: philosophy and history of science, philosophy and history of logic, non-classical logics and their applications, philosophical logic, ethics of science, and cultural and social science research into science and technology.

* Minimum degree required: Bachelor's degree with at least six semesters * Non-academic requirements: Special aptitude for the program * Additional requirements: Foundations in philosophy and/or history of science and logic. For applicants with mathematics/science or engineering focus, additional humanities and social science studies must be proven.
