📋 Program Hakkında

Devices such as insulin pumps, pacemakers, high-speed trains, and coffee machines operate with the assistance of small computers termed "embedded systems." The Master's program in Embedded Systems serves as a connection between traditional engineering and computer science. It addresses multiple facets of modern, integrated, and embedded systems, and provides students with the opportunity to customize their course content according to their interests. Through collaborative projects between Saarland University and its industrial partners, students can gain exposure to real-world industrial scenarios during their studies. The program requires students to accumulate 120 ECTS credits, typically 30 per semester. The curriculum includes core lecture courses (Stammvorlesungen), seminars, and a Master's thesis (30 credits) with an accompanying seminar (12 credits). The core lectures cover a wide range of topics including Computer Architecture, Cyber-Physical Systems, Data Networks, Digital Signal Processing, High-Speed Electronics, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Neural Networks, Operating Systems, Security, and many others. Most courses are taught in English, with some offered in German. Graduates can pursue careers in industrial or academic research and development in domestic or international markets.

* Bachelor's degree from a German university or equivalent qualification from a foreign university in: engineering informatics, embedded systems, informatics or computer science, electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related discipline * Evidence of the applicant's particular interest in the subject in the form of a personal statement * Two letters of recommendation from academic referees * Proof of subject-specific knowledge in: Mathematics (discrete mathematics, real analysis, multivariable calculus, linear algebra, numerical methods, stochastics), Informatics (functional and object-oriented programming, software development methods, formal methods), Engineering (electrical engineering, embedded systems, signal processing, systems theory and information theory)
