The Protestant Theology degree programme component of the Master of Education for the teaching profession at vocational schools with the professional specialisation Gerontology, Health and Care provides students with pedagogical skills in the area of theology and religion as an element of a holistic education, which also includes critical reflection upon and development of the students' personal characteristics and attitudes toward religion in the context of the their future roles as Religion teachers. A degree in Protestant theology is more than just preparation for the rectory or a teaching degree: Studying theology means discovering people, texts and ideas in the past and the present. Students learn to investigate Christian religions with the help of a unique variety of methods.
