How can we depict trees as realistically as possible in a computer game? How should traffic lights be programmed to regulate traffic flows? How do you design a secure system for online banking? In the broadest sense, these and other questions are concerned with how data are stored, bundled, exchanged and depicted. Computer and information science is a discipline that extends into most areas of our everyday lives. Mathematics and engineering science form the foundations. This is a minor subject that may only be chosen in combination with a major subject. Depending on your combination of subjects, computer and information science as a minor accounts for at least 39 ECTS credits. In the basic study area you have to attend four courses (computer science concepts, programming course I, computer systems and database systems). Following this, you can choose from six different elective areas, e.g. the area Data Science, Visual Computing or Interactive Systems or you can individually choose two advanced modules from the course offers of the department.
