📋 Program Hakkında

The Master's program in Conducting/Choir Direction at HfKM Regensburg enables students to achieve outstanding choir conducting and directing performances in concerts and performances, in church education and general cultural work. It prepares students for positions with an artistic focus in conducting/choir direction and for teaching in this subject at musical educational institutions. The program qualifies graduates for training and further education of part-time and full-time church musicians/choir directors, for advising committees on technical issues, and for public representation.

* Bachelor's degree (Bachelor of Music) or a diploma degree (Church Music, School Music, Diploma Music Teacher, Diploma Musician) or an equivalent domestic or foreign degree * For the Master's program in Church Music, a Bachelor's or diploma degree or equivalent degree in Church Music is required * Entrance examination in Choir Conducting (30 min practical/10 min oral): Rehearsal work on two independently prepared, at least four-part, demanding choral works from different epochs. One of the works is known to the choir. Colloquium on questions of choir conducting and choir literature. * Singing examination (15 min): Three accompanied and three unaccompanied vocal pieces of different character and from different epochs must be prepared. * Piano examination (15 min): 1. A prelude and fugue from J.S. Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, 2. Either a fast and a slow movement of a classical sonata or a variation work of the classical period, 3. A work from the Romantic period, 4. A work from the 20th/21st century. * Score playing examination (15 min): Playing scores in old and modern clefs and piano reductions (preparation time two weeks). Sight-reading of scores and piano reductions.
