The Master's degree programme in Chemistry is strongly research-orientated. It builds on the knowledge gained in the Bachelor's course. Students gain broad, advanced knowledge of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry and physical chemistry, and can develop their own specialism. The course aims to equip students with knowledge and skills for responsible behavior, independent thinking, and research. Graduates possess advanced knowledge of chemistry and can describe, analyze, evaluate and provide solutions for problems and research questions in the field. They can plan experimental and theoretical investigations, carry these out independently and document, interpret and present results. The program consists of compulsory courses including spectroscopy and practical research placements, plus elective modules for specialization. Students can select from subjects like bioinorganic chemistry, biochemistry, biophysical chemistry, homogenous catalysis, molecular modelling, radiochemistry, reactive flows, and theoretical chemistry. The program concludes with an oral examination and Master's thesis.
